Culture Club

Culture Club is our first public school program providing students an experience that is out of this world.

Power WATT serves as our foundational curriculum for Middle School students with “Culture Club” serving as the class for middle schoolers, centered around the exciting theme of international cultural exploration. Through engaging activities, students embark on a journey that allows them to learn about and experience diverse aspects of life beyond the borders of the United States. For many, this program opens their eyes to a vast world they have yet to explore. As they delve into the possibilities of travel, traditions, and lifestyles, their perspectives broaden, all while remaining grounded in their own identities. This enriching experience helps them understand their place in a larger global community.

The instructor, Mai Cannon, has a wealth of knowledge about international cultures and is passionate about sharing it with students. She was born in Vietnam and has lived in a number of places in the United States. The combination of travel and being from an immigrant family gives her a unique perspective. She spent many years in San Francisco, California which allowed her to meet people from quite literally all over the world. These relationships helped formulate a respect and deep appreciation of non-North American cultures. She shares stories, experiences and more with students through Culture Club.

The World Is Your Oyster
